Here is my craftsman LT2000 that I have been running for about 3 years in mostly stock form. I did the work you see here in the past few months or so. shes powered by a 40 cube briggs V-twin, backed by an mst205 5 speed. It had a 206 but I blew 2nd gear when the diff broke. This time I welded the pin rather than the spyder gears and its not breaking again. possibly the most critical mod for my driving style and use, is the droped steering angle using a shaft from a ford crown vic and the later steering box, witch is certainly the best box available. The feeling of driving this machine with the steering mod is a totally different experience than a stock tractor, at both high and low speeds. Pre war grand prix farm tractor Zz410
Speeking of speed. currently, and from day 1, I have been running a 1.42:1 overdrive, with a 5" pulley on the engine and a 3.5" on the transaxle. this seems to be the perfect compromise for slow speed crawling and about a 30mph top speed. allthough  this speed was achived at aprox 4500 RPM, but I try to keep the revs no higher than 4000. I have routinely traveled on road at close to 30MPH for a contant 3 miles without stopping. Soon I will post pics of the high/low range setup I am working on. this will alow me to have a 2:1 high and 1.16:1 low without switching belts.Pre war grand prix farm tractor Zz110

Other mods to note. I lowered the seat about 4 inches from stock by cutting 2 inches from the frame and solid mounting it. as you can see I solid mounted the front axle directly to the frame, and Iv added two cross members at the rear. I plan more for the front. the rear mounted petrol tank is from a rear engine rider, and there is a solid aluminun fuel line going through the frame to the front. 20" tires on 8" wheels front and rear, with bolts welded to the stock J spindles. the muffler is frome a kohler V-twin craftsman GT and is completely hollow, as its normally paired with another muffler witch Dmania42 has on his single. throttle peddel is a deck link, and the brake is operated independent of the clutch via a lever next to the shifter. The clutch leverage point has been moded for more tention, and I also reinforced the stock front trans brackets and linked them, but this needs more work as the left side keeps breaking. of course part of the problem is the solid front axle puts allot more stress on the frame when crawling, but the high speed handling is worth it

The next few things im working on, are a 2 into 1 exhaust out the back, fenders, a dash panel, and some better tires. Let me know what you think and stay tuned.

Nice rig. That steering is interesting. Low cog helps a lot.

That thing reminds me of an old school doodlebug or jalopy (in the cool sense). If you're on a budget, check out the tire cutting thread somewhere on here. Lote of good tips on turning turfs into good off roaders. Cool Tractor man!  Cool

Pretty slick looking machine there!

Though, I would recommend some foot boards. Wouldnt be much fun getting ones foot sucked down and run over lol

It looks great, I like how low it sits but at the same time how Mean Offroad'ish it is.
