Hey guys my friend and I Just welded the diff in his fnr transmission, got it together it worked perfect, until once he put it in reverse, it backed up then went to go forward again and it was jammed, it creeper forward a foot then stopped and started sliding the belt.

It still goes in reverse fine, full speed in highest range (mtd) even tried backing up alot to see if it was a piece of weld stuck in the gear it drives all over in reverse fine. But still won't go forward more than about two feet then jams again.

We drove it in forward for about 5 mins after reassembly before this happened and it happened immediately after shifting, not while driving.

That is truly bizzarre. I don't know what to tell you, other than to open it up and see if you can find anything.

Sounds like a weird one. Maybe like a bushing getting spun or something.
