I am out in the garage right now on my little laptop and I thought about something, Could I just cut the frame and extend it a few inchs? it would be alot cheaper than buying a new belt since I already have the angle iron and such.

Ill buy a new one off amazon, right now i have the 37X61 on it, I just want to extend the frame about 2 inchs so the belt is snug on.

  Manual or auto hydro. I think you need to study up a lil bubba. The brake pedel operates the break and the clutch. And a pedel on the oposite side runs the hydro. The clutch arm part of the mower has been removed if it dont have one the plate on top of the frame in front of the trans is where its suppose to be. Under the plate.

yeah im talking out of my imagination. Ive got the plate its on the ground right now. I just lost the 2 pulleys that would go on that plate. I looked online and it doesnt look like I can buy a whole new plate eather

Well lets put aside this hydro nonsince an get manual plan murray with a MST 205 or 206 and start there. But eather way you gonna have to buy belts. Hydros aint really prefured for offroading anyway.

Well this hobby is all about trial and error. You cant just buy this stuff you have to build it. You will figure it out.

I'm going to use this frame to build a lil car, I have 2 other tractors that I have laying around that I will use for offroading if the time ever comes, Just dont have no land around me to do offroading on. heres my other 2 tractors :

I was looking at that earlier, It looks awesome, I live in a suburb and my neighbors dont take very kindly to me and my random ass projects, (Ive build many go karts and have owned quite a few tractors) And I dont have any forest / lot of land to ride in.

So I have a real dum question, I have never done much work to my tractors and this is the first time ive owned a hydro, Could I run it without the clutch?

Yea you have to have a ideler pulley on a spring to keep it tight.

If I extend the frame then it would keep it tight on its out without a idler pulley tho, would it not?

Running a belt from the engine to the trans, with no clutch or idlers, means the trans is under power any time the engine is running.

So you'll be shifting while the trans is under power.

As for stretching the body... Why not just move the engine forward and/or the trans backward?

Never thought about moving the trans back, But it would do the same good as extending the frame would since I dont have the idle pulleys

You still not understanding. Wether you have a clutch or not. You still got to have something to keep belt tight. An having belt from motor to trans will be hard to get tight how you going to get it on or off without taking loose to motor or trans. Even then i dont think it will work to good.

And just re-route the belt with pulleys you have on hand like they do on the mower deck's if you know what i mean.
- Then you don't have to buy anything new.
