I can’t remember what oppy it had mighty, but I remember it wasn’t anything special. Only a 40 or 42 cube, very common and fairly low horsepower. It wasn’t a big deal to me. I did find a 21 horse 46 cube oppy at the junkyard with very good compression I thought about picking up. Just don’t know what I’d put it on. Was a newer one too. Like 2001 or something. It was at least 2000

Nice, I know you do not prefer them, but I wouldn't count them out. They have grown on me. I have 4 running now and the makings of a 5th.

Hey guys, didn’t get a whole lot done today, girlfriend had me distracted lol

Got the engine set on and 3 of the 4 bolts finger tight. Both flywheels are off, looks like I will need a washer to finish the flywheel swap and that’s where I left off for tonight. The shroud is just sitting on the engine.

I really love how the black frame looks under the engine. Hoping to be done painting the whole thing by haspin

I'd love to find a 11-13 hp engine for my daughter's ride.

That black does look good there CQ!  And bonus, you will be 18 by the time of Haspin!

Exactly!! That’s why I don’t go last year. This year I’m a legal adult and can go on my own. Parents didn’t want to go last year so I wasn’t in a huge hurry to find a trans

Wiring is cake on these things. You could even use relays for every little function and it would still be way easy.

Hey bud, you should totally give me a ride to Haspin, I know damn well my parents aren't driving me haha

Honestly, if they trusted me to, I would meet you about halfway. Or if I’m in Kentucky to begin with I think I’m about an hour from you. We could meet up and haul MUTT to my place and head to haspin. I’d love to go on a romp with you

Ok guys, here is my list to get done on this before haspin.

Finish the engine swap
New front tires
Wiring harness +battery
Light bar
Finish paint
Frame reinforcements.
Cut deck mount off the front axle for added clearance.
Transaxle breather

And I think that’s about it. Nothing too major I don’t think

That's quite the list CQ. I think you can get it done in time. Ol Red is almost ready for Haspin, but my green machine still has a way to go.

I just thought of something. Most people use fuel line as their transaxle vent. What if I took a fuel shut off and added that to the breather which would make it a vent shutoff. That way if I’m gonna hit a mud hole or deep water or something I can just close the vent

It sounds like a good idea, if you can remember to close it lol. That's why I like the idea of putting a filter on it with a short length of tube pointing down (like a motocross bike gas tank vent) so water can't get in it. If you're going in really deep water, having that valve there too would be nice.

Condensation too though. I’ll be going to college here in a year and a half so it’ll be sitting most of the time. But yes I would definitely put a filter on it.

Wish i lived closer so i could go to haspin.

Breather idea should work , you could run the line up to your dash and just find a nice 1/4 inch water valve with a smooth ball valve in brass and mount it there so its more accessible and so you woulnt forget to turn it back on.

Hmmm...NellyBelle could use a shutoff on the breather.

I think that should work, but I'd use the tightening hose clamps, not the spring ones. They don't seem to get too good a seal.

Normally that’s what I use, but I’ve seemed to run out. I have a bunch of those spring ones though and they aren’t too bad. Better than nothing anyway

You could run the breather into your intake(before the carb). Don't think the venturi would be strong enough to pull oil from the trans.

I agree with Rich though that running it into the intake would be the best way if you want a sealed system.

Some .250 fuel line is pretty cheap bud, especially from overseas sellers.

Even though like Rich said there's probably not enough vacuum to draw oil, you could mount a little catch can thing somewhere right at the engine if you were worried about it. Or just have it go up to the inside of the dash and then to the engine, let gravity keep the oil in the trans haha.

A piece of 5" long 1" PVC capped on either end, two barbed fittings. Put fittings towards the top,180* apart, trans side fitting a bit lower than the intake side. Easy. If you even bothered with such a thing, haha. Just use clear hose and put a bit where you can see it, maybe run it to the top of the dash and back down to the frame, then to the intake.

I wouldn't bother with ATF. 90 weight is fine. I didn't have trouble with the 75w-90 in the 18* weather with Orion.

Actually I’m gonna keep the stock intake. I have no problem with it. I’m thinking maybe drill a hole in the plastic 90* elbow of the factory intake and put in a corse thread barb there to put the hose on.
