I am fairly new to lawn & garden tractors, this is the first one I've owned, so gonna be turning it into a trail rider. It's a 1983 MTD, 18/44, 4speed. I haven't a clue on the brand or even the transaxle ID. So I will be having several questions as time goes by. I've been looking thru this forum for awhile now, seems very informative with nice members and haven't seen any BS replies or downgrading/belittling on new members with lack of knowledge. Thanks for letting me join

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like your tractor has a Briggs opposed twin and a Peerless 2300 series transaxle. Feel free to start a build thread on it!
