Hello all,

I'm Bow. I've been lurking on this site for a while, and decided to finally join up.

I will say first off: I do not have a Lawn Tractor... as I don't have enough lawn... however, I do enjoy small engine powered projects.

My lastest project is pretty much complete: a CycleKart

For those unfamiliar, a Cyclekart is an adult-ish Go Kart, styled after/inspired by a Cycle Car or race car from the early 1900's.
-Powered by a Honda GX200 or Predator 212 - 6.5 hp
-TAV2 style Torque Convertor

I decided to style my project after a hill climb cycle car in England: The Morgan RIP Special

Here is Mine: The BME RIP Special (Cocker Spaniel Not Included)

The last top Speed run, I hit terminal Velocity at 55.4 MPH (GPS Indicated).

I'm researching my next project, and seeing that it isn't hard to make things road legal in AZ, I'm looking at doing a Cycle Car inspired, using something around 18hp for the powerplant: either a V-Twin, or and Opposed Twin (which I think would be cooler), and you all have a lot of information on those engine setups.

Anyway, great forum, and thanks for allowing me to join.

I love cyclekarts!  That one is SO cool.  I've always wanted to build one.  You are welcome to show off your cyclekart builds here if you like.  We have a section called Off Topic project builds!

Thanks MightyRaze!

I appreciate the positive words about my build.

Cyclekarts are a trip for sure, 30 MPH with your butt 4" off the road feels like you are flying low.

The builds on this forum are incredible, you all create some cool stuff!

Welcome to the forum Bow! Glad to have ya!

Don't think I've ever heard of a cyclekart before, but that thing looks bad to the bone!! I'd love to see more on it. I like the pilot too lol!

I feel like an opposed would suit something like that better that a V-twin, and they are real torquey buggers. Although V-twins can be as well, and more efficent to boot. Either way, you'd probably really be able to make a fast kart with that kinda mill.

As Mighty said, feel free to start a thread in the Off-Topic section!

Thanks AllisKid!

I have a few videos of my CycleKart on my Youtube channel.

I was actually leaning towards an Opposed... probably because they are older, but I need to find one. The low end torque can help if the drivetrain is geared tall to get to "Road Speed",

I realize I could run to Harbor Freight, Drop $650 and have a 670cc V-Twin Predator, but that isn't much of a challenge, and I don't like the price tag..

Only thing about an opposed, those horizontal ones are getting really hard to find.

Yes sir, I have noticed that.

From what I have gained for researching them, with a Briggs Model, one can convert a Vertical to Horizontal by swapping the parts... but then again, one has to be able to find the parts as well...
