Peerless 206 Fluid

I got a Peerless MST-206 I was tossing around the idea of changing the fluid in it. I got a bottle of 80w-90 gear oil. And I woundering, How much goes in? I looked it up, not much info on the subject. But Some people were saying 16oz is what should go into them transaxles. So is that right?

Back when I was working on overhead cranes, our rule of thumb on oil levels in gearboxes was we wanted the level just below the lower most seal. That way there was less likely a chance of the oil leaking out when the crane was parked, but there was still plenty of oil in there to splash around once the gears started turning.

16oz according to the manual.
