I decided to make my Sears ST8 a little more fun. So I ditched the peerless 2300 for a tuff torq 6 speed geared trans with a pulley swap. I also added a jd front axel with direct steer and larger JD gas tank with custom made fiberglass fender pan. I used the clutch set up for the trans and made a custom dual gas and break pedals, and of course it already had the Kohler 22hp vtwin swapped in.General Mo Img_2010

I have a jd 210 with a 2300 still I had to do something else to this one so I could justify keeping both Grin

Good call the first time I drove it, it did almost kick me but now I'm kinda use to it. I need to figure out how to lower the gas tank some so I can lower the seat down

Couldn't you get rid of the old gas tank and just run a dual setup? It'd probably save more space, and gas ine.

That's what I'm probably going to do I had this tank laying around and I originally intended to use the built in sensor run a gas light. I'm going to go to the junk yard tomorrow and see what I can find, there isn't any room under the hood for one with the vtwin but I basically want to sink the seat down into the body some. I'm thinking maybe one of those newer tanks that kinda of wrap around the back

I'll get some pics tomorrow of underneath I finally got the clutch and break all worked out, this transmission has some kind of intern clutch as well and it was a pain to get it timed with the belt clutch
