Been working on this little gem for almost a year now. Just about finished. It all started with a free MTD tractor which I removed all the vari-drive workings and gearbox from. The tractor became my trail runner which can be found here: http://atltf.forumotion.com/t33-mtd-trail-runner-build

The beginning of the frame consists of 1"X1" square tubing. Used the stock axle from the tractor so it will have a single forward speed as well as reverse.

This picture shows the engine and fender mock up. Used the fenders off another MTD tractor. These ones were much heavier than what came on the tractor the axle came out of.
The engine will be a 3.5hp Briggs and Stratton classic of a Dynamark push mower.

It has the aluminum one it came with. Works well. Doesn't even bite your fingers when you try to start it.

Old deck pulley that I need to cut the center out of and machine to fit the 7/8" center.
Custom Three wheeler "Little Red" CIMG0679

Cut the old center out with a grinder then used the drill press with a carbide burr to mill the hole bigger in the pulley.

Old Yamaha tt250 neck and triple trees. The plan was to make the neck and backbone removable but the engine can still be pulled out.

Started mounting the handle bars by re-tapping the holes in the triple tree. Drilled some tabs that bolt on.

you might want to rethink the angle on the clutch cable. I have found that the cables wear out real quick on anything but a straight pull.
hard pulls will yank the barrels off them too

It's been working fine for a year now, but I would really like to upgrade to a brake cable off a quad or motorcycle. I had to run the cable so tight to get enough travel to release the belt from the pulleys.

it is looking really good but I think If you could get a back wheel for the front it would perform and look better Smile, those 3.5hp briggs have plenty of power once the govener is removed and a straight pipe is fitted Smile

looks like you are getting belt slip. a belly pan will solve some of that. just make it something you can remove on the trail if the belt jumps off

Pretty cool - be easy to do upgrades now that its done.

One thing tho - the forks seem like they could be leaned back just a bit- looks like itd flop over if it hit something on the front wheel hard enough - they seem too 'straight' up and down.

I don't suppose you could get a better shot of the foot shifter? I asked on one of your youtube videos since I'm having problems with getting on this forum at home.

I have a seven second video of it. Don't know if it will help at all. Try to get something this weekend on it when I go home.
