My new (old) Murray Widebody I bought for $125 delivered, best deal yet in 2024?, has been earning it's keep while my DD is down. I had to lose the lawn turf tires and put on mud tires since it kept getting stuck towing uphill with a trailer. I found crossing the slope worked much better then trying straight up since I could lean on the downhill side when it slips to give it traction.
It came with the mulching plastic buckets on the back along with the bracket. Which makes the towing 5/8" hole stick out much farther.
I had an old Murray I took the engine and transaxle (Dana :-( ) out of and I had to move it about 30 feet down a muddy and slippery slope, so to speak. Though it did not weight much, I admit to being a bit lazy that day and worried about falling and providing a YT video for someone else.
Plus, I did not want to let go and watch it roll down the hill into a rock or tree.
So, I was thinking, I already have it off the ground, it does not weight much, I bet it fits just under the new Murray or I can lift it over it.
Can I tow it from the 5/8" hole in the back butt to butt just like a trailer using a 1/2" bolt (I have 5/8 - wanted a loose fit)?
Hey, it matches up nice with a little wiggling.
So, can I actually tow it and make a 45 degree turn and most importantly, can I back it up as I woudl with a normal 1 axle trailer?
Yep, it did massively under steer and the towed Murray had a tendency to slide downhill. I fixed the steering wheel locked ahead with a ratchet strap through the steering wheel wrapped around the three spokes.
Worked well enough and saved me from being video footage for YT or TickToc.

Tried to view the sprayer project, but, I received a:
"Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum."
I do have a sprayer project lined up of my own, basically a 25 gallon tank I bought at auction, that will be mounted on a junk "ATV trailer" frame I bought at auction. I disassembled it to get it ready to grind the welds and weld it back up. Hope to have done this month. Northern Tools is having a sale on 10" non-flat tires, that uses 5/8" hubs, for $10. so, I bought a bunch.
Then I bought (20) 6" 5/8 all threaded low strength rod off Amazon for axle stubs. When it stops raining I plan on welding some projects up including an engine test bed-transport.
I made a jig for welding the axles so they stay at the angle I want and under 36" so they fit places around the raised garden beds and through most back yard gates.
