If you're referring to an analog sweep gauge, you can't- unless you have a horseshoe in your pants. Regular automotive gauges do not work properly with our engines. You can get it to read, but if you actually care about accuracy, then no.

Now- cheapest and easiest is the TinyTach- available all over the place. You may also be able to find a cheaper used tach for an outboard motor (marine), diesel (can often be adapted) small motorcycle, or such.

Not sure on accuracy as I haven't tried it yet, but there is also a way to turn a bicycle speedo into a tachometer. I think it was posted on here or intructables.com, or both.

Not the one I was thinking of, but here's a link to the idea.

The sunpro super tach III is adjustable to 2,4,6,8,10 cylinders but is huge with a shift light and costs near 100$. There better be another option for my twin because I to want a gauge not digits

I bought one on ebay it seems pretty good for the price although it's pretty slow on updating
It was only $15 with free shipping.
Have a look around on eBay just search outboard tach or motorcycle tach and you should be able to find them.

I did a lot of research on this two years ago... The 68 series by Equus has a tac that works with 1 cyl all the way a 12 cyl. (6068, 7068, 8068) the 6068 being the low end line is around $60 at the time. Theres a button on the back that can be pushed to calibrate the tac to work with any amount of cylinders.

Here's an eBay link I just found:

Hey that's the one I use in my car! There great tachs but like most tacs, there is only a 4,6,8 setting on them. It wont accurately read a single or twin right.  Crying or Very sad
