Would the gearing from a peerless 930 (rear steer by the way) match a MST-205? I know they are similar. I'd like to build a 4wd but don't have identical matching transaxles.

I dont believe so. However, the spiders are the same on the rear axles. Meaning, find two matching 205 transaxles, swap the 930 axles into one of the 205s and viola. Or find another 930. MSTs are better though, IMO.

Maybe you don't have to find another axle. All you need is to have the same gear ratios in each of them. Open 'er up and start counting teeth, if they don't match you may be able to find a parts tranny and just swap in the gears and the final drive so that they are the same...

Yep. All the common trannies were available with multiple gearsets. Whether you end up with a match, is a total crapshoot. Unfortunately, the 900 series uses different gears than the MST series, so remember that when sourcing donor boxes.

I didn't think it would be that easy, haha. Thanks guys. To add to the mismatch, the 205 is a 5-speed obviously, and the 930 is a 6-speed. I had seen where Puppetkicker on youtube used a 205(or 206) with the steering knuckles off the 930 to match gearing.

Puppet did what I mentioned. He swapped the axle shafts.
