B&S 16 HP OHV Single Damn Smoke

ok so im building a speeder project i got i think a 03 craftsman lt1000 6spd its got the B&S 16hp ohv single first day i got it i took it for a ride in the trail the engine was warming up to normal operating temp when i noticed it started smokeing so if mooded the tractor scence then. I put new plug in it/oil/cleaned the fuel tank new line/well it still smoking and seems to only do it when going over bumps or when the tractor is uneaven? The oil level is at the correct level. I dont know wth is going on maybe something to do with the valves or?

Could it been smoking from the rear end?

no the rear end is good its deff the engine

Is it oil smoke or fuel? If it is bumps or when sitting uneven, could be carb related, is the float set correctly?

smoke it starts right up and idles smooth for it to be the carb ill try doing a video of it

yep motor needs a rebuild it must of ran low on oil when po had it. I noticed 2day it has a knock not a bad one but u can hear it plus the smoking, But does anyone know a good place to get a rebuild kit along with any performance parts? Heres the video i did just abt an hour ago

Make sure motor mounts are tight, they can sound like a knock.

Make sure it is not a light tapping or ticking, that would be excessive valve clearance.

Run it till it blows, buy another!

I've had many briggs engines that smoke, most are light smokers, and will run forever if you keep the oil full.

Some single cylinder engines smoke if revved high.

i just bolted the engine on the other day thats tight, i cant afford another engine id like to rebuild it and beef it up

Just watched the video, and yep, it sounds like a rod going out. Wouldn't run it any more, it may let go and put a hole in the block.

If you a really lucky, maybe you can just replace the rod. Anything more and it will cost you more than a another used motor.

Haha lmfao i joined heymow.com and explained how im not using it till i git it set up the right way to be safe, but obviously i have to start and move the mower to show what the problem is with the engine and they banned the video from the forums do to me not having a tether switch and not having gloves on then i said '' ill go else where to get help and info'' the admin then deleated my thread haha

Yeah the guys over at heymow and atlma.us are pretty strict on the "safety" on builds. I think its more annoying than anything haha.

Yea when i told them "ill go else where to get some help" they deleated my whole post lol. Any ways i really want to keep this engine it starts right up and if the rings were bad wouldnt it smoke on start up? I just find it weird thet when the tractor get on an angle it really starts to smoke.
