Craftsman Rally Mower Project

The paint job sure does look better than mine when i painted it.

It looks a lot better in person, but I could have done better still. The paint I used sat in the garage all winter so it wasnt very fresh.

Did an oil change today to some 10w30/5w30 and a new filter, and did a bit of a ride. When I was done I got it to climb up this huge rock in front of my house and got some pics.

The hood lost it cool shape look with the white or idk.

Ugh you guys are killing me lol! I wish my welder worked. I saw the whole thread and I like! those craftmans are very popular so I guess they have a lot going for them! sweet ride.

They are great machines to mod.

Now I just need to build a bumper and some skidplates for the transaxle. I bumped it earlier driving over a rock. Scared me a bit.

So all was fine, getting stuck in mud when I decided to try and climb the woods.



Well it didnt turn out as smoothly as I thought.



Literally as soon as I fell off I thought "poopie, I gotta take a pic of this."

I got it flipped over. No damage other than I lost a pin for the tie rod and my air filter is full of gas. Well, everything has gas on it really.









I found a soda can and took the tab off from it and improvised a pin so I could drive it back without the tie rod popping off. Other than a bit of white smoke and some rubbed/ scratched paint, shes all good.

Oh, and im fine. Just a scratch when a sapling whipped me.

Finally some action around here, good the Beauty and the beast is ok.

Im glad shes ok too, I dont want to use the Kohler on it seeing as how its going to be abused haha.

I need a new exhaust though, So much white smoke since the oil sits in the muffler.

I got pretty lucky, when I fell off I managed to hit the kill toggle so it shut off immediately.

lucky gas didnt hit the exsust

Yeah that could have been bad.

It did, didnt ignite. The entire left side of the engine was almost soaked.

Meh... gas isn't THAT volatile... if it had backfired, yes, just on the hot, pretty unlikely it would catch. Still dangerous LOL.
