Does anyone know if there's a limit on how long they can be on a Briggs Vanguard V-Twin Engine?

Mines need to be just about 2' long.

i'd say go for it. add a temp gauge, so you can keep an eye on it, and run them as straight as possible

Your logic is good: Wondering about pressure and flow loss over a long length of tubing. It will happen. I can't tell you how bad it will be, but my instinct (along with the other guys) is to try it.

You could put a temporary pressure gauge at the input and output of the external system to see if you're getting any line-loss. If there is a problem then you could run larger diameter hoses.

More volume is almost always better when talking oil systems.

Well I know that on my dads diesel truck we got two trans oil coolers on it, "gald we did that" for towing the gooseneck and camper and the Pipe/hose used is 3/8" and it doesn't have any trouble cooling the trans oil and work right. I'm gonna be adding a oil cooler to my twin and I'm just gonna be running about 4 feet of hose on it.

I would not. IF it proves a concern, I'd look to an auxiliary pump.

Back when I was heavy into building high HP Harley motors, the general consensus was that "Too cold of oil is worse than too Hot". This is because the oil won't flow well and do it's job if it's too cold, but the oil is so good nowadays, that it really doesn't break down with heat like the old oils would.

Anyone remember the Mobil 1 oil commercial from the 80's???

That got everyone scared as heck and running coolers everywhere or switching to Mobil 1. I guess it did it's job as a commercial. But the additives in regular oil now keep the oil from frying like that anyways.

Having the hoses longer will work like a heat sink and help dissipate the heat and help cool the oil a little more. Air cooled engines can benefit from little things like that!
