Building up my 820 (what a pain in the dink)

Well I bought a 820 off facebook thinking I got a good deal for a working transaxle that the guy even said was race ready >.> Well... It was ready to race if I wanted to push it down the road myself.



So this is what it looked like when I got it all happy and thinking I was awesome!



Stretch is gonna recognize the shifter lol

Then I got to messing around with it checking gear ratios and stuff wondering if it already had the ratio conversion. I started noticing it was hard to shift sometimes it would just stop and wouldnt go in gear thought well thats odd. Then once I got it to shift all the way over to 6th the axle wouldnt turn when I turned the input pulley >.> Another huh thats odd moment, so I got out the sockets and started pulling it apart and much to my dismay and blood pressure 6th gear was completely gone I found chunks of gear in the case even blocking the fork... then I started looking at other things...


6th gear? GONE! Shift keys? Nice and rounded!




What used to be a gear

I took a look at the shaft and realized they didnt press out the needle bearings so its all galled up :/



And then today I poped the differential open to peek inside. It was packing a mighty fine piece of steel in it BUT it is completely useless because it was welded to split collars that let go of the weld so it would have just spun inside...

Not sure aluminum would be a good choice to hold a broach...

So things I will have to do/replace...
6th gear
shift keys
axle
locker
bushings
bearings
make it oil filled


So in closing if you cant touch it and check it dont buy it >.> lesson learned

Ugh I hate people like this! Why do this to such a poor soul. ***** like that gets me going.... I just sold a mst 205 to a kid in Michigan, and I took pics from when I bought it, of the inside gears, outside case, ext. that stinks man hope you get her together soon!

Yea, looks like you got useful stuff like the axle, rotor, hubs.. I'm not sure about you but I'd give him a little piece of my mind about the condition.

rotor is welded to the axle the hubs are meh Ill have to either change my rims or adapt them so I may just get new rims well see as for the axle its all galled up so pretty useless atm ground a flat spot where the keyway was which screwed up the needle bearings :/

Yeah the welded rotor kinda made me do a double take was kinda like isn't that supposed to kinda float in place? But meh gotta order parts and junk

I should have most of the pieces you need. 6th gear, I have one side for sure, other side maybe. Also have entire diff's.

I am pretty out there when it comes to the 820 been reading up on them but I may have to visit before the tractor party to get some expert advise lol
