Is ther a way to improve the Spicer brakes?

I had NO brakes available, no matter the adjustment. I found the pins in the caliper corroded. I intend to lightly ream the holes and polish the pins with krokus cloth.



And the pads were well abused anyway. Looking up the part numbers through Sears part Direct, they are no longer available.

So, where can I find these pads? And are they usually one thicker than the other?

So again, How can I make these better?
